Prior to founding Bivona Law and becoming The Voice for Kids, Drew represented personal injury victims across Texas working for a boutique litigation firm based in Houston, Texas. Drew got his start in personal injury when he represented hundreds of chemical exposure and personal injury victims throughout the Greater Houston Area. No stranger to a fight, Drew also defended small and medium sized businesses throughout the United States against the Internal Revenue Service and state tax agencies. Considering that he has always had a penchant for kids, he and his wife became foster parents in 2020. His son is now five years old and officially adopted.
Originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, Drew has traveled around the country and the world. At 19 years old, he joined the United States Navy. While on active duty, Drew earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Professional Aeronautics. After six years in the United States Navy and three deployments overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Drew moved back to Louisiana to attend law school at Louisiana State University. During law school, Drew also studied international and European business law at the Université Jean Moulin Lyon III in Lyon, France. Drew ultimately received his Juris Doctorate and a Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University.
Drew has called Houston home for nearly a decade, although his family has been around these parts since the 1960s. Over the years, Drew served as a Director on the board for the Houston Trial Lawyers Association (HTLA) and a Trustee on the board for the Houston Young Lawyers Foundation (HYLF). Prior to joining the board of HTLA, he spent five years as an elected board member of the Houston Young Lawyer Association (HYLA). He is also a Houston Young Lawyers Foundation Fellow.
Drew is a community outreach advocate, concentrating on the homeless and youth education. In 2016, he founded the Know Your Rights program through HYLA with a mission to educate high school students and young adults on their rights with regards to police interactions in an effort to reduce conflict and promote healthy relationships with police officers. In 2018, he assisted in founding the Read to Succeed program through HYLF with a mission to teaching 3rd graders the importance of reading at their grade level, which has been shown to greatly improve their likelihood of graduating from High School if achieved.
